Haven was born out of the sheer desire to share the good news of Christ and the amazing tidal wave of blessings that continues to flow from that miraculous Christmas birth that occurred over 2,000 years ago. The Haven Project identifies local families in need and attempts to meet not only their material needs and wants during the Christmas season, but also their spiritual. Along with the presents that are provided to our families, we also supply devotional materials to either supplement their growing faith or to some, introduce Christ into their lives for the very first time. What better gift can one give?
There are so many ways we can help our brothers and sisters in need. But more than that, there are so many wonderful reasons to in fact do so. Remember what the Lord told us in the book of Matthew... "The King will reply, 'Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40). When we give to others, we are reflecting Christ's visage. But make no mistake from the passage in Matthew, helping our Haven families provides a chance for us to see Christ's face as well. We give out of thanks for Christ's sacrifice!
